Video: Bakatare plays Paranormal Hong Kong

Video: Bakatare plays Paranormal Hong Kong

Hi there! It has been a while isn't it?

Well, to anyone who might read this, just know that I'm planning on publishing two new articles/post on this blog every week from now on.

It may come in many shape or forms, for example:
- Webnovel translations
- Creepy stories I found online
- Adding subtitles to videos/transcription
- Blog posts I may write entirely on my own about some topic I find interesting
- Anything I feel is worth a blog post really

So that's about it for what is to come, now without further ado, on to today's matter!

(Hololive members up to and including the 3rd generation)

Lately I've been spending an ungodly amount of time watching VTubers, for those who may not know: basically streamers using a live2D avatar with motion tracking.
I first came across them with Kizuna Ai way back in time, around three years ago or so, it has been a particularly flourishing industry lately, notably because of big agencies surfacing and taking care of numerous talents, the two main ones being Nijisanji and Hololive.

We're talking about over 100 Vtubers for Nijisanji and 40-50 for Hololive.

While I myself have mostly been watching Hololive streamers I've also enjoyed watching Nijisanji streamers on occasions, they even hold collab streams sometimes, usually worth a watch.

After pondering about it for a few weeks, I decided to try and get myself used at translating and subtitling videos. While I've added subtitles to some videos in the past, I've never really hardsubbed* anything before, much less handled a video-editing software to do so.
I finally decided to try and get used to it by first using a stream aired on March 2020, it features three VTubers playing a horror game:
- Watame (the sheep)
- Flare (the elf)
- Fubuki (the cat fox)

The game takes place in China, in the now gone Kowloon Walled City, in which you end up facing puzzling and dangerous events and phenomenons as you try to make your way out of this hell.
While the video in itself isn't ground shattering, it's a way for me to start doing something I hope I'll eventually get better at, my main point of focus for the videos to come will be timing my subtitles more accurately as well as cutting the video in a way allowing me to smoothen its rhythm more effectively.
That's about all I have to say about it really so here it is:

I will be working on the second part for some time, turns out this kind of stuff takes a while. My next post for this week will surely be something taking less time, such as translations of creepy stories or translating a chapter of a webnovel.

Stay tuned!
