I) The little troubles of a girl who could see ghosts:

I can see them.
Ghosts, apparitions, youkai. I can see them all. Everyone tells me there's something wrong with me, but I don't get to choose what I can and cannot see. 

Since I say it in public, people tend to come and strike up a conversation with me about it.
Some ask me to stop making statements this childish even though I'm a high school student,
or some on the contrary tell me that they can see them too.

'I don't care whether you can see them or not, just don't tell me about it.'
My cousin once told me as this kind of thing scares her.

'I can't! Horror stuff, monster stuff, ghost stories, even if it's made for kids, I can't deal with this!'
'Even picture books?'
'No no no and no! Seriously, why do people even read or watch scary things on purpose?! I don't get it!'
'Well then, what genre of book do you usually read?'
'Hmmm... right. History books for example, or classics, but even then I refuse to read scary stuff!'
'Right, come to think of it, you do like old and ancient stuff.'
'I do! I mean there's a sense of romance to it! Take a look at this book, its leather cover is well-worn, it was such a lucky find and—' 
My cousin was happily blabbering away about the leather cover of the book she just pulled from her bag.
She had just bought it the other day in an antique shop.
I find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place, wondering whether I should let her know that this leather is actually human skin, or not.
